Dear Journal,
Summer hit hard and fast — the sun’s been up early, the wildflowers are out in full force, and I’ve been riding shotgun to every DEKTEX jobsite with my nose to the wind and my tail high.
And let me tell you… I see everything.
Some people think dogs are just along for the ride — chasing butterflies and begging for scraps. Not me. I’m watching. Listening. Learning. I’ve seen my dad show up when he’s dead tired, when the sun’s barely up, and when most people would call it quits. But not him. He’s relentless — in the best way. Driven by purpose. Fueled by love. Always showing up for the crew, the clients, and the craft.
Last month? We hit our biggest revenue month ever. That’s not just numbers — that’s heart. That’s what it looks like when a team falls in love with what they do. Every call, every cut, every screw set with care and pride.
I’ve seen our office admin move up to office manager, step into her power and own that office. I’ve watched designs flow like water, keeping our builders moving and our clients smiling. And there’s a new guy in Sales now — full of fire and ready to serve. He fits right in.
We’re not just building decks out here. We’re building momentum. We’re building trust. We’re building a culture that hits different — where drills hum, dogs roam free, and people leave better than they came.
Me? I keep my paws muddy, my eyes sharp, and my heart open to love, abundance and success. Because I know what’s happening here matters. I feel it every time someone laughs on site, or slaps a coworker on the back after a job well done. I feel it when the crew cleans up a yard like it’s their own. I feel it in the breeze, in the sawdust, and in the blooming fields we pass on the way to another backyard miracle.
This summer, it’s not just about what we build.
It’s about why we build.
And around here?
We lead with love.
Everything else — like the wildflowers — just grows.
